WHEN YOU ELECT CHRIS, HE WILL:
PUT OREGON 1ST
WORK FOR LOWER TAXES
CUT GOVERNMENT RED-TAPE
SUPPORT TERM LIMITS
FOCUS ON OUR FUTURE
First, REMEMBER THE DATE!
The next upcoming election in Oregon will be held this year on Tuesday, November 3rd 2020.
In this - the GENERAL ELECTION - Oregonians will have the chance to vote for a variety of candidates vying for various local, regional, state and federal offices.
The PRIMARY ELECTION is now over; it was held on May 19th, 2020 and the winning candidates for partisan offices (Democrat & Republican) were selected from a larger field; those winning primary candidates from each party will square off in the General election on Tuesday, November 3rd.
If you didn't vote in the primary but want to vote in the November 3rd 2020 general election, it's not too late! Just make sure you are registered to vote in your district in advance and then try to stay in touch with the issues that affect your world.
This year will be a PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION which means voters will also have a chance to choose to re-elect President Trump or select another candidate for the highest elected office in the land.
Oregon is a VOTE BY MAIL state. It is very important to remember that anyone registered to vote in Oregon for ANY political party or no political party will have a chance to select ANY candidate on the ballot in the general election.
Ballots will be mailed out in October; many voters will select their candidates and return their ballots long before election day on November 3rd.
In conclusion, remember: ANY voter - regardless of registered party affiliation - can select ANY candidate; i.e. Democrats, third party voters and non-affiliated voters CAN ( and should!) vote for a Republican candidate in any partisan race on November 3rd.
if you live in Congressional District 1, which includes Clatsop, Columbia, (part of) Multnomah, Washington and Yamhill Counties, you can vote for Chris Christensen for Congress. If you are a Republican, you can vote for Chris; If you are a Democrat, you can vote for Chris; If you are an Independent - or any other political party - you can vote for Chris, and even if you are a "non-affiliated" voter, you too can vote for Chris in the General Election November 3rd 2020!
What's the bottom line? Vote for Chris Christensen for Congress in Oregon's District 1 on November 3rd 2020! If elected, Chris will become "Your Choice, Your Voice" in Congress!
Our founding principles define us as a government of, by and for the people. Chris will always protect & defend the United States of America and the State of Oregon first against all enemies, foreign or domestic.
Our economy will need to re-build in the new COVID world. Chris understands change and will help Oregon thrive in the new paradigm based on American values of hard work, tenacity, free will, self-reliance, free-market principles, lower taxes and less government regulation. Chris plans to build a bridge - literally - between Oregon's infrastructure demands and the federal funding our state needs.
A strong defense is needed today to protect American interests and assets around the world. Cutting edge technology is a critical component of our nation's defense. Chris will support a strong and vigorous U.S. Department of Defense and vigorously support and defend all branches of the United States Armed Forces.
The United States Space Force (USSF) is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. USSF responsibilities include developing military space professionals, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands. Chris plans to develop USSF training opportunities for Oregon high school students and graduates. Chris hopes to open a future USSF training base in Oregon if elected.
America needs to keep its promise to our veterans. Te reduce the VA backlog, a voucher system should be implemented that allows vets to seek the quality private medical care they need and deserve.
Cap & trade policies, timber harvest quotas, federal forest management, natural resources, coastal & riparian issues, fisheries management; These are all unique economic concerns to Oregon. Chris will be proactive in addressing these issues with an "Oregon First" approach.
The second amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear arms for Americans. This right holds a very special place in our Constitution and our history; this right shall not be infringed. The oath of citizenship for legal immigrants also outlines this right as a responsibility among all citizens to bear.
Chris will work tirelessly to cut needless government spending, root out waste, fraud and abuse and help drain the swamp of special interests and needless federal entitlement spending and foreign aid.
Chris never met a tax he liked. Chris supports a strong economic policy supported by necessary tariffs and a broad based, simplified tax code.
Diversity & inclusion is a fundamental American value that we all share in our immigrant histories. So is the law; Chris will work to secure our international border from illegal alien trafficking and end the sanctuary city and state policies that encourage the illegal practice of human trafficking into our state by our own elected politicians.
Chris supports federal efforts to reduce the cost of prescription drugs and increase the number of health care choices people have in the private health care market. Chris will always protect Seniors and only support policies that recognize and protect patients with pre-existing conditions.
Chris will pledge that, as a member of Congress, he will support efforts to enact term limits for members of Congress of no more than 4 House terms (8 years) and 2 Senate terms (12 years).
